Travel Options for getting to Broken Hill

Broken Hill is approximately 1100km from Sydney.

Driving from Sydney

Head west out through the Blue Mountains and Dubbo.  We recommend staying the night in Nyngan at the lovely Nyngan Riverside Caravan Park.

Flying

Rex Airlines.  There are usually three, and sometimes two flights leaving Sydney daily.  Some are direct and some stop at Dubbo.  Early bird prices sell out very quickly, and flights often fill – so book early if you plan on flying.  We will pick you up at the airport.

Train

The Indian Pacific departs Sydney on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  It leaves Broken Hill on Tuesdays and Fridays. The cost varies depending on the travel class you choose. There is also a daily train to Dubbo with a bus connection to Broken Hill.

Other Options

You might like to fly to Adelaide, hire a car and drive up to Broken Hill via the beautiful Clare Valley  (about 6 hours drive, though there’s lots to see on the way so allow longer)

Another option is to fly to Mildura, hire a car and drive the 3 hours north to Broken Hill.
